The clouds and weather forecast were enough to keep entries down,. So, rather than set up the lights and be rained out, the few racers there decided to pay for a Test'n'Tune day without timing gear. The result was a full day of testing and no rain! Doh!
Pete's son Patrick came along and snapped over 250 pictures with some great results. We've made a few available that captured the day quite well. Next meet will be as per Calendar, and the following meet will see Top Doorslammer replace Funny Car to keep the points races on track.

Glenn Liddell's Supercharged Willys
Glenn's Willys is unquestionably one of the best engineered RC drag cars you'll find in the World. The car has recently been Supercharged with a Micro Boost RC Engineering blower which adds a lot more than just looks to the car. Glenn intends on converting the car into a dragster to add some stability into it as the torque is a little to much for the short wheelbase car to handle. More pics available via the photos page.
CHASSIS: Fabricated by Glenn, it includes 7075 alloy rear end with Carbon Fibre up front!
POWER PLANT: Saito Four Stroke 56, Hemi Head, High Lift Cam, Micro Boost RC Engineering Supercharger
DRIVELINE: Shaft drive - Hardened steel straight cut diff gears 2.69:1 ratio and 7075 axle
CLUTCH: Custom (again by Glenn) Centax Style, with huge 7075 bell.
FUEL: Methanol with 30% Nitro, 15% oil

Brendan Podlich qualifies #1 with World's quickest Extreme pass!
The weather was less than perfect with cross winds gusting across the track. This hindrance was not going to stop Brendan from spearing his Litespeed Extreme dragster down the drag strip in just 1.262 seconds @ 104 mph (167.6 k/ph) during QMDRA's fastest RC drag class. The ET (Elapsed Time) overshadowing fellow QMDRA Member Todd Common's 1.275 second pass done earlier this year.
Brendan is working hard with his preparations for the World Titles which are held in Texas, USA in October and is confident he can match it with the best in the RC drag racing World! We know he can!
Race Results include: Brendan TQ'd and won Extreme, Mick TQ'd and won Funny Car Promotional, and Brow (Glenn Lark) won Bracket with the slowest vehicle (off road buggy) on the day, showing that consistancy is required for Bracket Racing and not the quickest or fastest car.
Everyone is welcome to come out and join in the fun that RC Drag Racing and QMDRA have to offer. Bracket racing is conducted at every event, so come on, give it a go! You be glad you did.

Last Saturday, Adrian Low demonstrated how to get a LiPo Top Fuel dragstrer down the track consistantly under the current Top Fuel record. At the end of the day, his best times were 1.504 @ 144.80 and 1.517 @ 142.0, setting the LiPo Top Fuel record at a respectable 1.504 and 142 kph.
Congratulations goes to Adrian for his achievements.
The winners were Peter Ward in Top Fuel and a very sick Brendan Podlich in Shootout. Brendan must be commended for prepping the track and sticking out the day when he had the flu and his body wanted to be in bed. Brendan's efforts in prepping ensure we all have the best surface in Australia to race on.
Although we had another late setup and extending practice session, race director Ray pushed through the racing rounds professionally. Expect more of the same between now and the Australian Nationals!
18 April Race Meeting
After some much needed rain over the last few weeks, our scheduled race meeting found some sunshine, and lots of it! The good conditions provided for some great racing and spectacular crashes, with Noel ramping his dragster a distance of approx 35m breaking the chassis in the process.
A good showing of Extreme cars produced some quick times and fast speeds. 3 competitors exceeding 161kph (100mph) on multiple occasions. Todd Commons has reset his own Extreme ET record to 1.309 which was backed up with a 1.316. To our knowledge this is the quickest official extreme elapsed time in the World (backed up at a official race meeting during racing & qualifying). If anyone knows different, please let us know.
Congrats to Todd on the new record and for his wins in Extreme class and Top Doorslammer. Glenn showed everyone why a 4 stroke makes a good bracket car by winning all shootout rounds and eliminations in bracket class to grab the bonus 15 points! Congrats also to Glenn for his achievement!

QMDRA may just have to wait until after winter to race under lights! However, we will do our best to get 1 in before the cold if we can.
Racing Saturday 4 April, will start 8am unless the weather gets the better of us. If the outlook is still grim tomorrow evening, a decision will be made then. So please check the website Saturday morning before you head to the track!

Dispite a few short rain delays, a good day was had by all.
Congratulations to Ben Cruse for smashing the Pro Stock ET & Speed records, setting the new benchmark for the Electric Pro Stock Cars. Ben powered his Mustang down the track in a ET of 1.893.
