QMDRA Management Committee Contact information
The QMDRA recently had a trade display at the Castrol EDGE Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway. The QMDRA guys spent 3 days talking to hundreds of people interested in our scale drag cars and our club.

Thanks to our great sponsor Geelong Sales Company for providing the Geelong Tool Chest Combo to raffle at the Winternationals.
The Tool Chest was independently drawn by two lovely ladies who drew a red ticket number F54. The lucky winner was Brian Parker of New Beith (pictured above right) with his prize. Brian was very surprised to have won and very impressed with the Geelong Sales Tool Chest.
Many Winternational's racers and crew visited the display intrigued with the 1/10 scale drag cars and impressed by the times and speeds of the extreme cars.
Crowds gathered every time Peter Ward or Glenn Liddell fired up their Nitro Dragsters. Pictured left is Glenn revving his one-of-a-kind custom 4 stroke dragster as the crowd starts to gather to see the car running.
The QMDRA invites everyone who visited our display to come and watch the cars in action at one of our future race meetings, or better still, bring along a RC car and join in the fun.
Congratulations to all the Winternationals winners in the respective classes.

SATURDAY 24 APRIL, 2010The QMDRA hosted the first Australian 'State of Origin' for radio controlled model drag cars. It is anticipated that as the event grows in popularity, so will the representation of more states.
The first event saw individuals representing clubs from two states, QMDRA for Queensland and PDNR for NSW.
The State of Origin class is specifically designed for this once a year event and is comprised of all pro car classes that have set specifications and a record for indexing purposes. However, breakout rules do not apply. This allows competitors to enter in the the State of Origin using a car in which they are most competitive with in normal pro class racing.
Qualifying order is determined by the closest to furtherest from existing current class records or if quicker than an existing record the competitor with the biggest time difference under the class record will be the Top Qualifier. The State of Origin is set to bring out the best in all classes unabling multiclass Pro competition to determine the best of the best.
QUALIFYING RESULTS (Name - Car type - Qual position)
NSW (from Penrith District Nitro Racing)
QLD (From Queensland Model Drag racing Assoc)
After qualifying in last position, Frank Naylor from NSW managed to make the final with a combination of luck and great passes. Mick Mulcahy from QLD also made it through for a very exciting NSW vs QLD State of Origin Final. Mick running a 1.548 on a 1.44 index with Frank running a 1.907 on a 1.639 index. Mick taking the win for QUEENSLAND!
The Dash for Cash Bracket Racing shootout also provided a NSW vs QLD final, with the two most consistant drivers on the day meeting in the final. Both Pete (QLD) and young Brandon (NSW) made the final without a loss during the shootout rounds. Brandon had a snooze at the light handing the win to Pete.
QMDRA Management Committee would like to thank the PDNR competitors and their families who travelled more than 12 hours each way to make this event happen. Also, a thank you to Brian Lawrence for spending the time to make the State of Origin shield, and all the helpers on the day. Everyone chipped in to make the event run as smooth as we could even though we had several rain delays. Hope to see everyone next year!
